Paul Revere and The Raiders
A Household Name By Dawn Bonner It is incredible, many of the bands we grew up loving and enjoying are still on tour. Their music is timeless and it seems we can't get enough of them. Now, not only can we see Paul Revere and The Raiders in concert, we can bring our children, and/or our grand children, to turn them on to great music (that is if they don't already know this band). In the days where boy bands are designed, then handed music from a formulaic compound that is 'supposed' to guarantee a hit, it is refreshing to hear the music, which helped shape our lives.
Dick Clark is responsible for the band becoming a household name. He asked the band to audition for him in Jan. 1965. The band was one of the first to have 23 consecutive Billboard hits in a row. I always forget how many great songs they did, till I listen to them play.
